Meteorological Center will give information about solar radiation

Camagüey, March 24 (AIN) The Station Lidar, of the Institute of Meteorology, implements a service of information for diverse organisms with data on the climatological behavior of the solar radiation in Camagüey.

With base in this city, the Meteorological Center of Camagüey possesses a series of observations of the radiation values since 1970, considered as very useful to know about the possible impacts of the global climatic change.

Juan Carlos Antuña, to the front of the team Lidar, pointed out that this information is advantageous for sectors like the agriculture, the tourism and the human health, which will begin to use it for its activities.

At the moment the Center is buried in the digitalization of all the data, and it already covers 25 years.

The objective of the Station Lidar is the checking and investigation of estratosferics aerosols on the climate in Camagüey, Cuba and the Great Caribbean, and compares its mensurations with those of other remote sensors, as those installed on board satellites.

This work team has benefitted of the collaboration of the University of Valladolid, in Spain, with which settled down in the 2007 an agreement and soon will sign another one more.
