Havana, Cuba, Mar 10 (acn) A group of 40 US artists, like Spencer Tunick, Cindy Sherman and Sue Williams, will inaugurate an exhibition of the most representative pieces of today's New York art on March 28, in this capital.
Under the title "Chelsea visits Havana", the exhibition will take place at the Universal Art Building of Havana's Museum of Fine Arts, and will be composed of pieces from the most renowned galleries from that locality in New York, the CubaSí Web site reports.
One of the exhibition's curators, Abelardo Mena, said that it will be made up by 40 engravings, sculptures, and videos, among other artistic expressions.
The collection offers a spectrum of aesthetic subject matters and concerns by creators like Uta Barth, Delia Brown, Carrey Maxon, Paul Pfeifer and Laurie Thomas.
Most of these artists will travel to this capital to participate in the 10th Biennial Exhibition, to be inaugurated on March 27.
This is the first time in 23 years that artists from New York have exhibited their work in Cuba.
