The sugar: decisive line in the economy of Camagüey. The sharp economic crisis that shakes to the planet forces us in particular to the people of Camagüey to be more efficient for the sake of substituting to the maximum the imports and at the own time to work with dedication to increase the exportable lines and to already fulfill the commitments those traditional.

Steps have been taken in that sense and the county showed in the 2008 an increment in these indexes, modest still to my way of seeing, convinced that they still exist potentialities and reservations to explode.

Because although the economy of Camagüey finished last year with positive balances, more than half hundred of its productive units of important sectors accused losses for around 123 million pesos.

Anything enviable maximum result when its main characters were entities of the agriculture, and of the Basic, Slight industries and Sugar bowl., this last one with a fundamental weight in the economy not only of the county but of the country.

I bring up this since as it is known the prices of most of the matters cousins that export the countries of the third world are depressed and among them figure the relatives to lines that meant a strong entrance in foreign currencies for Cuba in the last years.

The opposite happens in these moments with the sugar that has elevated its rate in the international market, that that together to the descent in the price of the fuels claim of the sugar workers the maximum of consecration and efficiency for the sake of taking to happy term the campaign.

But the execution of the plan of the candy assigned to the county requires in these moments, when the harvest goes into in April, of the decisive effort of the agroindustrial in the first place, but also of the support of popular mobilizations toward the cane cuts.

It is needed therefore to recover the left tons of sugar of taking place for that which is necessary to take advantage of to the maximum the installed capacities, not to leave neither a single cane in the field and bigger demand in the execution of the daily norm so much in the manual cut as in the automated.

It is necessary to take advantage of what subtracts of March, period in the one that historically behave high the yields of the gramineous to enter him of full and under better conditions to the month of April and in that way to reissue the victory reached in the last harvest and to dedicate the execution of the plan of sugar to the VI Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and to the anniversary 48 of the victory of Beach Girón.
