Venezuelan Parliamentarian Thanks Cuba for its Solidarity

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 13 (acn) In a message to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, Venezuelan indigenous parliamentarian Dalia Herminia Yanes, summarized on Thursday her gratitude for Cuba's permanent solidarity with her country.

From my homeland, I send greetings to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and to his representatives, who have given us their support and solidarity in important social missions like Barrio Adentro and Robinson, stated the deputy in Venezuela's National
Parliament in Caracas, Prensa Latina news agency reports.

Yanes participated in a news conference, during which she expressed her gratitude for the multiple ways in which Cuba has cooperated with the Bolivarian Revolution in social sectors, mainly in education and health.

"These are advances we have had with our President, Hugo Chávez", added the legislator shortly before entering the ordinary session of the Indigenous Parliament of the Americas and the Venezuelan Parliamentary Group, which will run until Friday.

Both nations have a wide gamut of cooperation projects, under the umbrella of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas (ALBA), based on solid principles of solidarity and complementariness.

These accords have a diametrically different essence compared to the ones Washington has tried to impose on the region over the last few years, under the label of Free Trade Area for The Americas (FTAA) or its individual versions with countries in the area, called Free Trade
Agreements.
