Camagüey will operate with four power stations in next harvest

The Managerial Sugar Group bowl of the county of Camagüey will operate in the coming harvest with four power stations, one less than in the previous campaign for the reduction of the dear of cane to mill.

Erduin Delgado, industrial technical director of the entity, said to the AIN that you prevé to begin the mill in the second pay period of January of next year with the geniuses Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, Siboney, Argentina and Batalla de Las Guásimas.

Camagüey has eight industries of this type, but the drop matter readiness prevails in the fields it only assures annually the operation of five or six plants.

For the harvest of the 2010 the situation is more critical for the adverse effect of the hurricanes of last year and the insufficient reinstatement levels.

A decisive reason to have less cane to cut consists in that were harvested stumps dedicated to the first months of the following one in the precedent mill, in order to achieve the biggest production possible of sugar in instants that the Cuban economy needed it.

According to the dear carried out in June, the county will have 25 percent less than cane in comparison with the previous season and therefore the reduction of raw will be of the order of 12 percent.

Leonel Sánchez, director of cane of the Group, informed that in the current year Camagüey planned to sow little more than 15 thousand 800 hectares, and the result up to now is of some 11 thousand, when comes closer the end of the rainy season.

Although that task is glimpsed of difficult execution, Sánchez showed trust in reaching the surface planned to continue in the immediate future elevating the plantation and to shorten the time of preparing with more matter prevails for the harvests.

Begins today National Colloquy with the Cuban Architecture

Artists and Cuban intellectuals will be pronounced since today in the National Colloquy by the Cuban Architecture, foreseen in this city up to September 12.

The appointment proposes the exchange about the current situation of the manifestation, the paper of the institutions in the transformation of that reality and the formation and the social recognition of its professionals.

The event seeks to sit down rules to achieve that the current architecture, affected by material limitations, don't only have functional values to constitute an unavoidable artistic-cultural fact of the nation, according to Florentino Rivero Mójer, president of the organizing committee.

The sample “Archilocura”, in the art gallery Julián Morales, in the headquarters of the branch of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, will be of the tonight surprises during the inauguration of the Colloquy.

With its conference “The taking of the great white city”, the Dr Mario Coyula Cowley, National Prize of Architecture 2001, will open the debate this Thursday September 10, in the Center Cultural Recreational Casino, headquarters of the scientific program.

Among other personalities will participate in the event Julio Cesar Pérez Hernández, professor of the University of Harvard, the investigating Lohania Aruca Alonso, between other architects and professors like Lourdes Gómez Mother-in-law, National Prize of Architecture 2003 and Blackish Oscar Herrera, both of the University of Camagüey.

Agriculture of Camagüey benefitted by the ALBA

Starting from agreements subscribed by means of the Bolivarian Alliance for the America,ALBA, the agriculture of Camagüey should execute more than 10 investments, valued in about 16 million pesos.

Among such projects are the prosecution plant and benefit of grains, to guarantee seeds of high quality, and the program of development ovin caprin with 10 properties of feed in the municipalities of Camagüey, Vertientes, Minas, Guáimaro, Céspedes, Esmeralda and Florida.

Also and by means of financing agreements with the ALBA, the agricultural of the territory foment, in three stages, properties of fruit-bearing, for the gradual increment of those lines dedicated to the elaboration of preserves and substitution of imports, and to have seeds for its extension for the fields.

The development of the production of vegetables by means of semiprotected cultivations, is another of the projects in those that already works and that understands the execution of five new areas by means of that system and the reconvertion of 10 organoponics to that method, much more efficient.
