Order Frank País to Teachers of Camagüey.

The work of infinite love that is the education, deserves for its makers multiple recognitions. In the day to them dedicated in Cuba-declared FreeTerritory of Illiteracy for 47 years -, severalteachers of Camagüey received the highest stimuli.
The connotation of this moment is the bonus to so much effort and dedication for the human growth through the knowledge.
A total of seven teachers of Camagüey was worthy for its exemplary attitude of the Order Frank País of II grade that grants the Council of State of the Republic of Cuba, to proposal of the Ministry of Education. To other nine were awarded the Medal José Tey, given it outstanding work in the organization and school administration.
The solemn ceremony took place in the Living room Guillén of the historical combined monumentary of the Square of the Revolution Bigger General Ignacio Agramonte yLoynaz of Camagüey. There also was meant to a group of professors with the “Distinction for the Cuban education”. Equally who for more than 20 years have been consecrated to the teaching, they received the distinction “Rafael María de Mendive.”
The municipalities Guáimaro, Céspedes, Sibanicú and Vertientes, as well as Computer Science's Polytechnic Institute “Maximum Gómez” and the School of Sport Initiation “Cerro Pelado” conquered a special recognition.
Julio Cesar García Rodríguez, First Secretary of the PCC in Camagüey, ennobled the paper of the educators in the revolutionary history of the Island.
“We have an extraordinary pedagogic flow that comes from the time of Varela, Mendive…, teachers' teachers. And you are the continuity of that formed tradition of values, of behaviors, of ideology. For that reason you deserve the most important recognitions.”

Grant the Cuban poet Luis Marré National Prize of Literature

The writer was recognized by his sustained poetic quality and also for the values of his narrative and critical texts .

To one of the most outstanding Cuban poets in the Generation of the 50, to Luis Marré, was granted the National Prize of Literature 2008, inform today the AIN.

The jury presided over by the writer Humberto Arenal concluded the night of this Thursday his deliberations after the analysis of the proposals with big taxes to the Cuban literature, and he kept in mind the laureate sustained quality of the poetic .

The note promoted by that tribunal specifies that the values of the narrative and critical texts of Marré stood out, and especially that his verses join culture and sensibility, subjectivity and daily reality.

With a language of seductor master, elegant and balanced, he knew how to conjugate the classic inspiration with the renovating airs of the vanguard, points out in the act the jury that was integrated, also, by Nara Araújo, Basilia Papastamatiu, Waldo Leyva, Francisco López Sacha, Omar Felipe Mauri and Sigfredo Ariel.

Marré is one of the most outstanding Cuban poets,his work understands a dozen of poemaries and two anthologies of his own chore, and he already reached a place of honor in the literature since the publication of his notebook. The eyes in the cool air (1962).

He is founder of the Union of Writers and artists of Cuba (UNEAC), he was for much time of poetry, and he is magnificent expert of the Cuban poetic movement.

The National Prize of Literature 2008 will be given him, like it is already tradition, in next February, like part of the program of the XVIII International Fair of the Book, concludes this agency.

Acted in Camagüey “Patch” Adams

Camagüey, Dec19.The American doctor Hunter “Patch” Adams, worldwide well-known as The Doctor of the Laugh, was presented in the county, with performances in this city and in that of Santa Cruz del Sur.

Accompanied by students and professionals of the state of Virginia, Adams traveled with the cast of the Cuban company of infantile theater La Colmenita, to act before the families of that southern town, severely damaged for the step of the hurricane Paloma.

The digital version of the Adelante newspaper, informs that for the first time children of La Colmenita, grouping declared by the Fund of United Nations for the Childhood UNICEF as Ambassador of Good Will, intruded with the famous mime, in a show of this type.

In the city of Camagüey Adams was presented before small entered in the pediatric hospital, and in the University of Camagüey where remain evacuated for “Paloma.”

Also, Carlos dialogued with students and professors of the Superior Institute of Medical Sciences J. Finlay to who he explained the innovation of his gratuitous cures without the farmacs necessity.

Adams (Washington AD, 1943) promotes alternative means of cure of sick and is the inventor of the laugh theraphy with medical and and therapeutic ends, and the responsible for the inclusion of this in the modern medicine.

He also acts as social activist, diplomat, professional clown, actor and author.
His life was taken to the cinema in 1998 in the film “Patch Adams”, played by Robin Williams.

Machado Ventura hihglighted decisive contribution of the cuban woman.

Guantánamo, Dec 19. - The woman's decisive contribution in different spheres of the Cuban society, was outstanding this Thursday in the city of Guantánamo by José Ramón Machado Ventura, first vice-president of the Council of State and of Secretaries.

The also Member of the Political Desk of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), intervened in the Provincial Assembly of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), where underlined, however that the contribution of the women can be bigger still.

The main task of the organization is to contribute toboost the tasks of the Revolution, Machado Ventura emphasized, in back to the words of a delegate to this meeting, with which the previous process culminated in the county to the VIII Congress of the organization.

The ideological political work with the woman, particularly with the youngest, should arrive until the block or more intricate delegation,said the First Cuban Vice-president.

Next to Machado Ventura were in the meeting the members of the Central Committee of the PCC, Yolanda Ferrer, general secretary of the FMC, and Luis Torres Iríbar, first secretary of the PCC in Guantánamo.

Began the milling in Camagüey

Camagüey, Dec 19. The sugar harvest began today in the county of Camagüey, determined to take out the maximum profit to the available cane, after the step of two hurricanes for its territory.

The central Batalla de las Guásimas began the milling in early hours of this morning, and it is expected that in next hours other two geniuses enter in operations.

The tests locate the brix (extracted content in the shafts) around the 18 percentage points, favorable level for the beginning of the cut in this time.

Camagüey spect to carry out the crop during 108 days and will maintain in the campaign at five of their eight industries.

The damages caused to the plantations by the meteors Ike and Paloma, in September and November, with adverse impact in the agricultural and industrial yields, are the fundamental cause so that the production of raw falls by 20 percent in connection with the precedent season.

Before such a problem, the county organized the harvest to assure the gathering of the gramineous in the fields and to get milled high and stable in the factories, in order to achieve high extractions in the millings and with the biggest possible quantity of sugar.

The crop will be in charge of 198 machines and cutters of the canes units combatants of the Young Army of the Work and volunteers mobilized by the Power station of Workers of Cuba.
