Cuba’s Advances in Neurosurgery Presented in Peru

HAVANA, Cuba, April 16 (acn) Cuba’s advances in the field of neurosurgery are being presented by prominent doctors from the archipelago, who are participating in an International Seminar on this specialty underway in Lima, Peru.

The meeting was inaugurated by the San Juan Bautista Private University, under the auspices of Havana’s Cira García International Clinic and the Cuban diplomatic mission in that South American nation. Cuban ambassador Luis Delfín Pérez was present in the opening ceremony.

The scientific event, attended by a large number of Peruvian physicians, has Cubans Ernesto Fleitas, Luis Oswaldo Sotolongo and Jose Rodríguez as its main speakers.

For two days, delegates will focus, among other issues, on Cuba’s experience in spine surgery and in the use of images to diagnose spine pathologies, Prensa Latina news agency reports.

Cuban specialists said that the event is also an excellent opportunity to share experiences on the use of novel surgical techniques.
