Airport of Camagüey: 22 years National Vanguard

Camagüey, May 20 .With the commitment of continuing being one of the best communities in Cuba, the International Airport Ignacio Agramonte, in this city, received today the flag of National Vanguard, condition that achieves for twentieth second occasion.

Belonging to the Union of the Transport, the center reached in 2008 economic and union results of relevance, as the increment of the revenues, bigger quality and efficiency in the service, reduction of the time of demurrage of fleeting and at the same time increase of the number of travelers.

Other important meters were the execution of the itinerary, saving of resources, voluntary donations of blood and contribution of foreign currencies for programs of the health.

Gerardo Napoles, integral of the national address of the labor organization, he said that the union counts with more than two thousand labor centers, and of them 57 reached the title of National Vanguards for its acting in 2008.

Of that group, 22 are of the branch of the civil aviation, among them five airports.
The first time that the center won the reward was in 1984.

With more than 400 workers, the airportuary station is one of the first ones arisen in Cuba and is considered place of historical values of the county of Camagüey.

There landed June 11, 1933 the airplane “Four Winds”, driven by the pilots Spanish Captain Mariano will Sweep and Lieutenant Joaquín Necklace who were the first ones in crossing the Ocean Atlantic without scale.

Also of the installation left October 28 ,1959 the legendary major guerilla Camilo Cienfuegos, on board an airship Cessna that disappeared in trip to Havana.
