Eulogized Cuba for it efficiency in donations of blood

Havana Mario Pichardo, consultant in systems and services of the Pan-American Organization of the Health (OPS), eulogized Cuba for it efficiency in donations of blood.

The official affirmed that Cuba highlights to be one of the most efficient countries in the voluntary collection of blood inside Latin America, publishes today the daily Granma.

Pichardo exposed before assisting specialists to the event Hematology 2009 the results of a study that relates sufficiency of blood with organization of the national system.

During it presentation, the official detailed the behavior of this service in 18 countries of Latin America during the year 2005, it stops at the end to demonstrate how insufficient it is.

He explained that the scarce readiness of blood for therapeutic uses is related with two fundamental elements: due losses to the lingering storage and it not collects in patient sure.

Pichardo expressed that "from Cuba, the country with better results inside the study, the OPS makes a call to systematize the donations voluntary altruists in a periodic way, with well educated people on healthy lifestyles and that are regularly checked."

Even when the Island already overcame the goal traced by the World Organization of the Health (OMS) of getting a sanguine donation for each 20 inhabitants, follow improve the non alone mechanisms to attract more voluntary, but also to increase the quality of the delivery.
