Scientists and conservatives join efforts for a better Camagüey

Specialists of the Provincial Center of Cultural Patrimony and of the Delegation of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), exchanged about the responsibility that acquire with the environment the people of Camagüey residents in the area declared Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity.

The Doctor in Sciences Mayra González Díaz, referred that the CITMA in the county leads a study about the vulnerability dangers and risks that understands the area recognized by the UNESCO and it allows to the competent organisms to adopt more precise measures before natural disasters.

It was also insisted in the integration that should exist among the entities of the municipality of Camagüey and in the necessity of generating encounters with the population to inform about the patrimonial values that store and to profile a more responsible attitude toward the means that surrounds him.

In Camagüey the area declared by the UNESCO Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity, embraces 54 hectares and more than eight thousand inhabitants, for what is of supreme importance the systematic checkup of indicators as the environmental contamination and the care of the vegetation.

The exchange among specialists of the Provincial Center of Cultural Patrimony and of the Delegation of the CITMA, is included in the day by the World Day of the Environment that is developed in the territory of Camagüey from beginnings of May. (Yamilé Fernández Rodríguez)
