Camagüey improves more than 30 thousand hectares of its cultivation lands

Another result of the center is a technical instructive for the use of organic matter in orchards and organoponics of the urban agriculture .Camagüey, 5 Jun. - A superior surface to the 30 thousand hectares in the county of Camagüey benefits, with the application of measures directed to its improvement and conservation to elevate the fertility and to avoid its deterioration.

The Experimental Station of Floors and Fertilizers accumulate several years in these studies, and the entities of agricultural productions take to the practice the recommendations proposed by the scientific institution.

Antonio del Castillo, investigator of the Station, pointed out that that it is one of the two main programs in execution in the territory, and the other one refers to the treatment of the earth with organic matter.

He added that the formulations to incorporate that material should respond to the necessities of each area, because otherwise can cause contamination.

He exemplified it with the concentrations of nitrates above the permissible levels in the underground waters, the one which of drinking for human and animals cause damages to the health.

Another result of the center is a technical instructive, of national employment, for the use of organic matter in orchards and organoponics of the urban agriculture.

At the moment the institution develops an investigation for floors of plains to wavy, predominant topography in Camagüey.

A partial conclusion ruins the belief that in the reliefs of slight slope there was not sustrat loss for the superficial haulages of the rains.
