Present in Paris documentsent to Supreme Court of USA for French organization

PARIS. The Amicus Curiae sent by the association of jurists Droit Solidarité to the Supreme Court North American to demand justice and the revision of the case of the Five, was presented in the XI Neighborhood of Paris, for initiative of our association America Marcha.

Droit Solidarité (DS) is an non government French organization of lawyers, jurists, professors and right students. DS was founded in 1990 and has more than 300 members. DS is member of the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (AIAD).

DS practices the politics of sending French lawyers to attend (in observers' quality) in opinions in those that the human rights, included the right to a fair and equal juridical treatment, are in danger.

Before representatives of different Latin American associations of solidarity, the lawyers Alexandre Zouralichvilli and Walid Okais, members of that ONG, explained and they demonstrated to the auditory the manipulation and the multiple violations of the laws so much North American as international that has suffered this process.

Before this application, DS organized events, seminars and public round tables dedicated to the analysis of the present case. An important event was a conference taken place in the headquarters of the Senate of the French Republic, Palais of Luxembourg, Paris April 19 2008. In this conference they participated the accused's lawyer Guerrero and family of the Five accused, journalists, as well as representatives of diverse associations of human rights and of lawyers of America, África and the European Union. To the event senators attended, lawyers, academic, specialists in political sciences, right students and representatives of the civil society.

During that event, DS pointed out that the Group of Work of the United Nations on Arbitrary Detentions in its Opinion No. 19/2005 indicated: "The Government (of United States) didn't deny the fact that (…) has persisted in Miami a prejudiced climate and feelings preconceived against the accused that have contributed to that to these they have been considered guilty since the beginning (…) and that Miami was not the appropriate headquarters to organize a trial since was known that will be practically impossible to select impartial juries in a case related with Cuba (…)”

In the carried out activity June 1ro the Coordination for the Defense of the Cuban Revolution informed that the interview was already requested to the embassy of United States in France, to give the letters dedicated to the president and the North American secretary of State, where demand Gerardo's immediate liberation, René, Antonio, Fernando and Ramón. They also summoned to the next support manifestation at the Five that will take place June 19 in the central square parisina of the Uniform
