Camagüey will operate with four power stations in next harvest

The Managerial Sugar Group bowl of the county of Camagüey will operate in the coming harvest with four power stations, one less than in the previous campaign for the reduction of the dear of cane to mill.

Erduin Delgado, industrial technical director of the entity, said to the AIN that you prevé to begin the mill in the second pay period of January of next year with the geniuses Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, Siboney, Argentina and Batalla de Las Guásimas.

Camagüey has eight industries of this type, but the drop matter readiness prevails in the fields it only assures annually the operation of five or six plants.

For the harvest of the 2010 the situation is more critical for the adverse effect of the hurricanes of last year and the insufficient reinstatement levels.

A decisive reason to have less cane to cut consists in that were harvested stumps dedicated to the first months of the following one in the precedent mill, in order to achieve the biggest production possible of sugar in instants that the Cuban economy needed it.

According to the dear carried out in June, the county will have 25 percent less than cane in comparison with the previous season and therefore the reduction of raw will be of the order of 12 percent.

Leonel Sánchez, director of cane of the Group, informed that in the current year Camagüey planned to sow little more than 15 thousand 800 hectares, and the result up to now is of some 11 thousand, when comes closer the end of the rainy season.

Although that task is glimpsed of difficult execution, Sánchez showed trust in reaching the surface planned to continue in the immediate future elevating the plantation and to shorten the time of preparing with more matter prevails for the harvests.
