Dominicans Demand End of US Blockade against Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 9 (acn) The 18th Solidarity-with-Cuba Meeting underway in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, issued a resolution demanding the end of the US economic blockade against Cuba.

The economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US against the island violates the human rights of a whole nation, the resolution states.

The participants in the Dominican movement joined the UN member countries in their vote in favor of a Cuban resolution against Washington's measure that has cost the island more than 93 billion dollars.

The document, approved unanimously at the meeting, states that several generations of Cubans have been born under the negative effects of the blockade that has been kept for nearly 50 years.
