Health and Education: Top Priorities of New Bolivian Constitution

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 8 (acn) President Evo Morales said on Sunday that health and education programs will be top priorities in the new Political Constitution of Bolivia that will be voted on next January 25.

During the inauguration on Sunday of two polyclinics in the Bolivian city of El Alto, Morales praised the assistance that Bolivia receives in these two sectors from countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, Spain and Iran and recalled that health and education are essential aspects of a country’s development.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, the Bolivian leader explained that the preventive work in the communities is paramount in order to improve the quality of life of the population.

Morales also recalled that 700 ambulances have been distributed in the 327 municipalities of the country and that, by the end of the year, 300,000 Bolivians will have recovered or improved their sight thanks to the Operation Miracle free eye-surgery program underway in the South American nation with the assistance of Cuban health personnel.
