Grant the Cuban poet Luis Marré National Prize of Literature

The writer was recognized by his sustained poetic quality and also for the values of his narrative and critical texts .

To one of the most outstanding Cuban poets in the Generation of the 50, to Luis Marré, was granted the National Prize of Literature 2008, inform today the AIN.

The jury presided over by the writer Humberto Arenal concluded the night of this Thursday his deliberations after the analysis of the proposals with big taxes to the Cuban literature, and he kept in mind the laureate sustained quality of the poetic .

The note promoted by that tribunal specifies that the values of the narrative and critical texts of Marré stood out, and especially that his verses join culture and sensibility, subjectivity and daily reality.

With a language of seductor master, elegant and balanced, he knew how to conjugate the classic inspiration with the renovating airs of the vanguard, points out in the act the jury that was integrated, also, by Nara Araújo, Basilia Papastamatiu, Waldo Leyva, Francisco López Sacha, Omar Felipe Mauri and Sigfredo Ariel.

Marré is one of the most outstanding Cuban poets,his work understands a dozen of poemaries and two anthologies of his own chore, and he already reached a place of honor in the literature since the publication of his notebook. The eyes in the cool air (1962).
